Nikolaj Ivanovich Lobačevskij was the first in the early nineteenth century to conceive space outside the scheme of Euclidean geometry. Lobachevsky did not like linearity, he flew in thought, in writing and in the forms created by his geometry, non-Euclidean geometry.
