How exactly did PopUpDesign get here?
See the jumpers there? That’s us, featured on “il Globo” Melbourne in 2014 for Elementi Concept Launch. But let us tell you more. Each step brought us closer to helping you get your hands on the best designer furniture all the way from Europe! It’s been an interesting journey.

First, we enjoyed over 20+ years of experience in the furniture industry. 2009 was the YEAR OF THE MOVE when we relocated to Australia.

2014 saw the birth of Elementi Concept , our Awards Winning family business, designing and importing custom built luxury cabinets all the way from Italy;
we’re helping many Australians create the perfect kitchens, bathrooms and interior since 2014.

Giovanni Giannace

Owner & CEO PopUpDesign

There’s no question that the furniture industry is in my blood. That fuels the passion I have for PopUpDesign. I simply love design!

My journey started by learning from ‘Nonno Ciccio’, my grandfather. He opened one of the first furniture stores in the southern part of Italy where I grew up. With his big moustache he was an impressive figure and so was the furniture pieces in his showroom.

While learning the trade of cabinet maker under his guidance, Nonno Ciccio taught me about the importance of quality and timeless materials such as solid wood. And I still abide by his values three decades later.

I’ve enjoyed 20+ years in the furniture industry, getting to know each aspect: sales, design, production and managing a company after taking over the family business in 1998. Personally, I most enjoy using design and innovation to help turn rooms into eye-catching spaces.

I renamed the business Giannace Style Est. 1960. I focused on furniture design and built relationships with a wide network of manufacturers, suppliers and artisans across Italy.

In 2009, the next chapter of my life kicked off when I traveled to Australia, fell in love with the country and decided to move here.

What drives me? A passion to use my background and network to help Australians obtain stylish interiors. First, with collaboration from respected Italian brands, I established Elementi Concept, focusing on designer kitchens and bathrooms. I’m proud of the awards received for this venture:

Marketing & Operational Manager

After years of sharpening my skills in a variety of projects, I’m once again focusing on my first love, namely marketing. And at PopUpDesign I’m doing it in the exciting niche of designer furniture.

Creativity has been part of every chapter of my career. As a child I grew up in the country at the heart of the furniture industry: Italy! With a love for creativity I studied English and French literature, after which I pursued Marketing and Sales Management. This sharpened my skills to help engage with PopUpDesign’s expansive network of furniture designers across Europe.

In 2009, after visiting Australia as a tourist, it became the country of my dreams. Giovanni & I moved here and pursued a passion we both shared: designer furniture. Elementi Concept was the first step in connecting Australians with designer furniture all the way from Italy.

Let’s not forget my other love: cooking!

I studied as a nutritionist and worked with leading Perth-based cooking schools. In 2014 I opened Elementi Cooking School, where my marketing background helped me grow the brand into a successful small business. I combined my mother and grandmother’s cooking knowledge with what the industry taught me. Today I still co- manage the on-demand cooking school.

My Italian heritage still keeps me passionate about the furniture from my childhood. Today I use this passion along with my marketing skills in PopUpdesign. We bring Australians a taste of Europe at attainable prices.
